To nights result
sees Manor unbeaten in their last four matches taking
10 points from a possible 12, they got a tremendous
start when just after 5 mins, a powerful run from defence
by centre back Chris Barratt ended with him driving
the ball home from 25yds after he latched on to a perfect
through ball from Asa Pamplin. Manor were playing some
great football and should have gone further in front
when Bradley Knapman had three consecutive chances blocked
by the home sides defence in the space of a few seconds.
Manors wide players Connolly and Fola were causing mayhem
down the flanks and when Fola whipped in a superb cross
it look a dead cert for the net as Connolly raced into
meet it only to see his effort skim the bar and go for
a goal kick. Seconds later it was Fola’s chance
to go close as a mazy run ended with a crisp drive from
18yds which he saw tipped over by the keeper. The interval
couldn’t come quick enough for the home side,
with Quinn & Midford marshalling the middle of the
park there seemed no let up for the home side and just
a matter of time before Manor extended their lead. 1-0
at the break but more Manor pressure in the second half
saw Pamplin, Quinn, Fola, & Midford all go close.
Manor finally wrapped up the match when Fola ran the
full length of the pitch with the ball, releasing it
into the path of Pamplin who drilled the ball home from
20yds leaving the keeper stranded. Such was Manor’s
dominance, that Keeper Carl Prince wasn’t brought
into action until the 91st minute, when he pulled off
a tremendous save to ensure not only all three points
but a clean sheet as well. Manor’s M.O.M. went
to David Snazel, he just keeps getting better with every
game. Jubilant manger Kirk Whitelock said after the
game, we’re finally getting the results our football
deserves, I’m proud of all the players to night
it’s not easy coming here and getting a result,
but it was thoroughly deserved.
