This win takes Manor
on a 7 game unbeaten run with no goals conceded in some
6 hours of football, fielding a side that was forced on
them through injury and illness they still managed to
overcome a spirited Hullbridge performance. It was Manor’s
keeper Carl Prince who Outshone everybody with yet another
quality display, which is fast
making him the signing of the season. Manor started well
and soon had the visitors on the defensive, a cracking
40yd drive from David Young which whistled past the upright
was a sign of things to come and when on 19mins Glen Connolly
whipped in a free kick from 25yds which was dummied by
the ever alert Delroy Forde, the visitors defence stood
motionless as the ball flew into the bottom corner for
the opener. Manor should have increased their lead on
a number of occasions, their best chance falling to Fola,
as he went on a mazey run, which ended in a low drive
that was well saved by the keeper. On 30mins Manor doubled
their lead when a quick turn and snap shot from Bradley
Knapman was handled by a defender, it was Knapman who
calmly slotted the ball home. 2-0 at the break, the second
half saw the Carl Prince road show take over for the home
side, the visitors without a so far decided to make a
game of it, but hadn’t reckoned with the home sides
keeper. Four superb saves from Prince thwarted any comeback
from the visitors and when Chris Barratt fouled a Hullbridge
striker in the box, it was again left to Prince to be
the Manor’s saviour with his third penalty save
in the last three games. Manor had chances to increase
their lead but looked decidedly fragile when the visitors
pushed forward, still another 3 points for Whitelocks
boys and a result they really had to dig deep for. Manor’s
M.O.M. Carl Prince does exactly what he’s on the
pitch for and more, an outstanding performance to keep
the Manor’s run going.
