younger/fitter and more certainly more organised then
last year. The Manor knew 1-4 win last season......

possession, however, wasn't threatening enough to steal
all 3 points, instead could only muster a 0-0 draw.........

Manor took all 3 points against Bowers & Pitsea
in the League Cup Group B. Kirk Whitelock making 7 changes
to the team that faced Hullbridge Sports in the league
last Saturday.
The Winning goal
scored in the 35th minute of the game by Adi Skyers
after Peter Kana latched on to a lost cause and set
Skyers up for his first Goal in a Manor shirt.
The Manor finishing
with only 10 men, Jason McCarthy given his marching
orders after gaining a second yellow in the 70th minute,
however, on a positive note the Braves can reflect on
the last 4 games without conceding a goal.......... |

defence. The second scored by stand in Skipper and Man
of the Match Steve Reading in the 89th
minute from the penalty spot. The
Braves stay top of Group B in the Essex Senior League

Manor fail to score against an impressive Brentwood
Town display on Wednesday night. The Manor without Key
players due to injuries and holidays, worked hard but
was unable to find the net. Peter Kana and Chris Hammond
coming closest, but the Manor curse of not taking their
chances comes back to haunt them once more!
The Town's scorers
were Lawrence McDowell from a set piece and Jay Kissoon
with a well taken goal after some great work by Brentwoods
Mark Doyle. On the night Manor have no complaints a
competent display by Brentwood who well deserved their
3 points.

be on the cards, however, the Braves didn't really threaten
the Robins defence until the 15th minute when Hammond

to be disallowed due to the free kick being indirect.....

Manor faced Stanway Rovers in the 3rd Round of the Essex
Senior Cup on Wednesday. An injury stricken Manor side
conceded 4 goals in the first half and one in the second.
Stanway play their football in the Ridgeons Football
League, First Division, their form in the league this
season has been impressive to say the least, played
11 and won 10, puts them is forth place, only 3 points
off the leader, with 4 games in hand.
Stanway have
already faced Essex Senior League opposition this season,
in the FA Vase, Stanway beating Basildon United 4-3
and progressed into the 2nd Round Proper were they will
face Broxbourne Borough V & E.

Tuesday night at the Bridge against a competent AFC
Hornchuch side, who netted one in the first half and
two more in the second to take a comfortable win.
The Manor came
to life in the last 5 minutes of the game when they
struck the bar, other than that did not threaten the
Urchins goal. The Braves however can take full credit
for their never say die attitude as they chased every
ball.
262 supporters
braved the cold weather to cheer on both teams and were
also a credit to their respective Clubs.....

a midfield tussle on Monday night at Barkingside. The
Braves fought hard only to lose the game by a single
goal. Manor striker "Chris Hammond"
netted both the Manor goals but wasn't enough to secure
any points for the Braves.
The Manor Manager
Kirk Whitelock commented after the
game "Well, we have played Burnham, Hornchurch
and Barkingside in our last three games, and I am so
proud of the boys. We have showed grit and determination
and we are improving as a team. We must remember Barkingside
have not lost in the league this season and are currently
on a great run, rest assured Barkingside knew they were
in a game tonight"..

Manor
travelled to
the Spotted Dog, Clapton's home Ground on a cold and
frosty Tuesday night in the first Round of the Thames-Side
Trophy.
The Braves had
several chances to take the lead but lacked the finishing
touch.Clapton opened the scoring in the final minutes
of the first half making it 1-0 at the break.
The second half
the Manor burst into life and looked more in control
of the game. The Manor equalised from a set piece which
saw Skipper Steve Reading knock the
ball home from close range. Clapton re-took the lead
from a well worked ball down the centre. A few minutes
later Manor's Chris Hammond drilled
home a 35 yard blaster which found the top corner of
the next to level the score 2-2.
After 90 minutes
these two teams could not be separated and the game
went into extra time. The Manor taking the lion share
of chances failed to find the net and the game looked
certain to go to Penalty's, when in the last minute
of extra time the Manor won a free kick just on the
edge of the penalty area, up stepped Manor's Chris
Barratt who drilled home his shot with fierce
accuracy, making the final score 2-3 to the Manor.
A fabulous gutsy
performance by the Braves who fully deserved their win.

Manor are through to the Quarter finals of the Essex
League Cup after forcing a 1-1 draw against Stansted
on Wednesday night. The Braves simply needing a point
to qualify to the last eight.
First
team Manager Kirk Whitelock had to make many changes
to the squad that faced Southend at the Weekend due
to Injuries, Suspensions and players being Cup Tied.
Whitelock commented after the game:-
" Our game plan worked, we knew a point would secure
us to the next stage of the Cup, Stansted however, needed
to win and would have to take risks. Stansted were a
real handful for us at times, I knew it would be a tough
game and their win last week against run-away league
leaders AFC Hornchurch was never far from my mind"
The
last game of the Group (B) Bowers & Pitsea V's Romford
to be played on Wednesday 21st December, this will decide
who the Manor face in the next round of the competition,
Romford need to beat Bowers by 3 clear goals to dislodge
the Manor from being group winners.......

Manor get their first win of 2006 with a convincing
display away to Hullbridge on Monday afternoon. The
Manor open the scoring after 22 minutes after Jamie
Wallace delightfully chipped the Hullbridge
Keeper. The Braves kept hold of the lead until midway
through the second half when Hullbridge equalised from
just inside the area. The Manor re-took the lead when
Substitute Graham Chester powerfully
blasted a 20 yard volley into the back of the net, closely
followed by a terrific solo effort from Chris
Hammond who run the whole length of the Hullbridge
half to slot past the Keeper..........

every department, as a well drilled Brentwood side extended
their slender first leg advantage with a clinical display
of finishing.
5 minutes gone and already the writing was on the wall
for Manor. Heavy Brentwood pressure saw Steve Richards
much the busier of the two keepers...........

in this closely fought league clash against London APSA.
Graham Chester Manor's player/Asst Manager came on as
substitute for the injured Lenny Nicholls to smash home
the winner in the 78th minute, after Manor new boy &
youngster Mattie Spicer saw his shot deflect into the
path of the veteran striker.
London APSA had
their chances to rap things up early in the second half
but squandered their opportunities and allowed the Manor
to dominate in the second period.
Johnny Quinn
took the Captains armband as regular skipper Steve Reading
was suspended for the game, Quinn inspired his Braves
right to the final whistle to ensure all three points
belong to the Manor............

Braves ived up to their nickname on Saturday by producing
an outstanding performance especially in the first half,
against an accomplished Burnham Ramblers
side.
Another changed
starting line-up saw first team Boss Kirk Whitelock
give his youngsters a run out and with the wind at their
backs in the first half gave their all.
The Manor's first
goal coming from a set piece, top goal Scorer &
Striker Chris Hammond stepped up to
smash the ball home mid way through the first half.
The second goal
also coming from a free kick, this time Hammond deflecting
his shot on to the crossbar and into the path of Manor
work horse Johnny Quinn who didn't
need asking twice, drove the ball into the net making
it 2-0 to the Manor at the break.
Burnham hit back
in the 90th minute causing the Manor bench to have a
few heart palpitations in the dieing minutes of the
game.
Steve
Reading Manor skipper, lead by example and
produced an outstanding performance which inspired his
team to take all three points.............

which left the Manor bewildered and with their work
cut out struggled to find their rhythm.
A late onslaught
by the Manor in the second period gave hope to the small
number of Manor supporters brave enough to turn out

Braves looked lethargic & jadded in comparison to
their opponents.
Southend ended
the break 2-0 up, the 3rd came from a well taken penalty
early in the second period. Eton Manor scored a consolation
goal from Player/Asst Manager Graham Chester making
it 1-3, Southend secured the win with their 4th of the
game from a well struck shot, which left the young Eton
Manor goalkeeper Richard Bastin no chance...........

Manor unable to recapture the form that saw the Braves
beat Brentwood Town 4-2 last week. The Manor turning
to its youth squad members to produce a quality performance
against a capable Brentwood team
Despite the Manor
having much of the possession were unable to find the
finishing touch and lost the game 1-0.
The Manor's next
game is away to Stansted on Saturday 25th March Kick

luck struck twice for the Manor today when Glenn Connolly
pulled up before the start of the game with a twisted
ankle then Manor's midfield dynamo Charlie Tarten also
twisting his ankle 2 minutes into the start of the game
and was replaced by Manor youngster Dean Pearson.
The Manor paying
the price for not taking their chances early in the
first period of the game. The Braves losing by a single
goal in the 75th Minute of the game looked frustrated
as they tried to find the net............

| The
Braves faced AFC Hornchurch & Essex League Champions
on Tuesday night in the Essex Senior League. The Urchins
got off to a good start scoring both their goals within
10 minutes of each other in the first half.
The Manor lead
by Skipper Steve Reading fought back
in the second period and scored after a goalmouth scramble
which resulted in Player/Asst Manager Graham
Chester on hand to stroke the ball home making
it 2-1.
Despite the Urchins
bombardment of the Manor goal the score finished 2-1
to AFC............

Manor
travelled to Ryman
Premier League opposition Billericay Town in the Eastern
Floodlit League on Thursday evening 6th April. The last
time the Manor played Billericay Town back in November
the game finishing 2-2 with The Manor's top Scorer Chris
Hammond netting the first and The Braves Skipper
Steve Reading securing a point in the
second half.
Billericay showing
their class as they smashed 3 goals in the first 30
minutes to take all the points. The Manor left counting
the coast as more injuries continue to jinx the Manor.

only be described as roller-coster season. Both teams
struggling to find their form or consistency with team

Rampant Concord Rangers side saved the best until their
last game of the season by thumping a bewildered Manor
side
4-0 on Saturday.
Concord scorers
were Craig Gilham in the 5th minutes,
the Manor closed up shop until the 50th minute when
Jamie Clark scored their second, Mark
Kelly made it three in the 80th minute, finally
Carl Read sealed the victory with the
4th goal scored in the 88th minute..............

A
Jubilant Barkingside team went away form Tilbury 3 points
richer, thanks to a first half deflection off a Manor
boot.
The result on
Tuesday night pushes Barkingside into third place above
Burnham Ramblers, a play off spot now up for grabs,
the only team to challenge the "side" is Tilbury
who need a win from their last two games to prevent
Barkngside from keeping third position and a place in
the play off's.
The Manor 2005-2006
Season comes to an end, a mixed Season of both highs
and lows. The Players and Management will now take a
well earned break. A Pre-season schedule will be announced
on here shortly
