1st Half
Eton Manor started off well with Cole scoring with
a header from a corner on 10 minutes. Six minutes later
he added his second to make it 0-2. On 24 minutes Manor
were 0-3 up due to a diving header from Gooch going
in at the far post.
2nd Half
0-3 at half time, we weathered the storm as Stansted
pushed forward only to find a solid Manor defence giving
nothing away. Midway through the second half Manor pushed
forward and Nicky Pinder scored his first goal of the
season, he also missed a golden chance with a diving
header just going wide. Manor then made three changes
and Gareth Collins scored from just inside the Stansted
half to beat their keeper and open his account for the
season.
A great all round performance from every player
with great BOUNCEBACKABILITY from last week.
MANAGERS COMMENTS
CLEAN SHEET AT LAST
It was good to see us keep a clean sheet for a change.
We were solid from the defence, keeper through to the
midfield and the strikers. We played as if we had played
together for years and it was a privilege to be part
of this performance.
Today there was no Man of the Match, every player played
their part. It was also good to see us getting goals
from all over the park, lets hope this will continue
in the League on Saturday as we owe Hullbridge one for
nicking the game late on earlier in the season.
One last word, all in the reserves would just like
to wish the first team all the best in the FA Vase next
Saturday against Woodford United.
