The Manor making
their first Cup Final appearance in 70 years, the last
time was back in 1938 against Romford in the London
Cup.

The Manor kicks
off with the wind advantage. Jamie Wallace returns to
the fold and plays up front alongside Anton Stephenson.

The Manor first
to show their intensions, a free kick 30 yards out,
sent into the box, a glancing header from Manor Skipper
Steve Willis which sees the ball skim off of the bar.

Michael Begg
gets onto the ball and sets off towards goal; Manor
keeper Andy Hall spreads himself wide to narrow the
angle as he palms the ball out for a Concord Corner.

Anton Stephenson
with a powerful run ‘drives forward into the Concord
box, as he skips past a packed Concord defence, instinctively
Stephenson stabs the ball goal-bound, but to the Manor
despair bounces off the post and cleared to safety!

The Manor really
unlucky not to be in front get their reward in the 43rd
minute, Liam Allen collecting the ball just inside his
own half and heads off towards goal, choices to his
right with both Stephenson and Wallace making themselves
available, however, Allen drives forward and from 25
yards unleashes a powerful shot over Collier's head
and into the back of the net, 1-0 to the Manor.

Second half and
as expected Concord come out fighting. After 5 minutes
Concord make their first Substitute, Tommy Lee enters
the field and with his first darting run ‘artistically
tumbles over in the Manor box and is awarded a penalty!!

Danny Heale steps
up and blasts the ball into the net to level the score
at 1-1.

5 minutes later
Concords Michael Begg whips down the Manor left; Lee
Smith goes to ground early, Begg steps over the Manor
defender to the by-line and sweeps the ball across goal
and into the path of Heale who smashes the ball home
from close range.

64 minutes on
the clock and Concord strike once more, the ball sent
through a packed Manor defence to the back post where
Tommy Lee was waiting to guide the ball into the net,
3-1 to Concord.

The Manor showing
their never say die attitude, hit Concord back a few
minutes later, Liam Allen down the left sends in a low
cross into the path of Anton Stephenson who makes no
mistake as he crushes the ball home from 6 yards out.

A tense final
15 minutes see Concord run down the clock, last ditched
attempt by Chris Barratt on the end of some great work
from Stephenson the ball driven just wide of the post.

The Final whistle
blows to the relief of the Concord faithful who before
celebrating their victory ‘honourably share commiserations
with the dejected Manor men.

A great
performance from the Manor in the first half, showed
real character and were unlucky not to be 3 up at the
break. The second period saw the experience of Concord
shine through and take their first Trophy of the season.
Congratulations to Concord Rangers. A real gutsy second
half display by the men in yellow. A game full of character
from both sides and was an excellent testimonial for
the Essex Senior League.
