Eton Manor welcomes
Barkingside to St Chads today. Both teams needing 3
points as the battle for top spot in the league rages
on.

The Manor without
Chris Barratt. Jamie Wallace, Bradley Nelson, Manley
Brown Ricky Husseyn and The Manor's 27 goal machine
Kunle Adeoye all out due to injury.
The Manor kick
off, Danny Dobson starts alongside Anton Stephenson
scorer of 32 goals for the Braves this season.

The Manor hitting
Barkingside on the counter, Barkingside take a corner,
the ball cleared up field into the path of Liam Allen,
who slightly over hits the ball, Barkingside’s
keeper Chris Clark comes out to challenge, however,
Allen flicks the ball to his left, into the path of
Anton Stephenson who looks clear with an open goal,
a last second challenge by Paul Kavenagh looks to have
unbalanced the Manor striker who knocks the ball inches
wide of the post. Lucky escape for the visitors.

Barkingside respond
with some good build up play from defence, Julian Ashby
sending the ball long, to the feet of Brian Suchley
who tried his luck from 25 yards, Andy Hall down low
to his right makes a good save.

Barkingside reduced
to 10 men as Duwayne Clarke is seen lunging forward
to head butt Anton Stephenson, the incident results
in Clarke receiving a straight Red Card.

36 minutes gone
and Barkingside take the lead, again some good work
by the Barkingside defence, the ball driven forward
down the right, the Manor defence caught napping as
Dominic Harkins nods the ball home from close range
to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.

Second period
and Barkingside first to impress, the ball curved into
the box from the right handside, drops to the feet of
Paul Carr who smashes the ball towards goal, The Braves
keeper Andy Hall pulls off another great save to his
left to keep the Manor in the game.

Manor making
their first substitute, Jordan Childs off for Clinton
Hodge. Hodge straight into the action as he fires his
shot just wide of the post.

Danny Dobson
making way the talented Fabian Brown.
The Manor continue
to press for an equaliser, Clinton Hodge showing fighting
spirit as he wins the ball from 6ft 3" Suchley,
Hodge nudges the ball into the path of Stephenson who
smashes the ball just wide of the post.

Barkingside once
more break free into the Manor half, Dominic Harkins
with the ball at his feet running towards goal, Andy
Hall once more showing great awareness, anticipates
the shot and makes a great save to his right.

Midfield battler
Lee Smith off for Jason Fox. Barkingside score their
second in the 85th minute, the ball driven into the
box from a set piece, Manor's Steve Reading heads the
ball clear but only as far as Matt Frew with his back
to goal on the edge of the box sends in an over head
kick into the net, 2-0 to Barkingside.

Into injury time
and the Manor pull a goal back, Fabian Brown weaves
his way into the Barkingside box and from close range
pokes the ball past Chris Clark, making the final score
2-1 to the visitors.

An entertaining
game, both sides still have much to play for in the
last remaining games left this season. The game could
have gone either way, however. Barkingside proving worthy
winners.

The Manor
now needing to pick themselves up and prepare for next
Saturday's Gordon Brasted Memorial Trophy Final against
Concord Rangers at Burnham-On-Crouch kick off at 3pm.
