Eton Manor playing their 3rd game in 5 days welcomes Hullbridge Sports to St Chad’s Road on Saturday. The Manor squad still riddled with injuries prior to today’s kick off ‘endure further wow with Jason Fox pulling out after sustaining a muscle injury in the warm up.

With prolific goal scoring partnership of Anton Stephenson, suspended and Kunle Adeoye still injured the new front pairing of Jamie Wallace and Bradley Nelson get the game started.

Hullbridge start the brighter, using the flanks to create their chances however, it’s the Manor who have the better opportunities to score in the first period, the first in the 18th minute when Steve Reading sends the ball forwards, Bradley Nelson playing a great one two with Jamie Wallace ‘which results in the ball just missing the outside of the post.

Manor corner driven into the box sees a Hullbrige player clearly punch the ball to safety, however, the match official waves play on! Click Here to view Video!

Now in the 38th minute and Neil Barratt with a heavily strapped knee sends a great ball into the path of Bradley Nelson ‘who breaks free from the chasing pack and heads towards goal, Nelson getting within 10 yards of goal unleashes a blistering shot, Hullbridge Keeper Lawrence Priddle having to make a spectacular save to his right to palm the ball out for a corner.

The Manor looking strong defensively, Courtney Mclean back from injury looks composed on the ball, the ever present Ray Coker showing a real positive winners attitude searching down every ball and Steve Reading commanding his back line whilst being vocally supportive.

The second period of the game and the Manor get control of the game. Jamie Wallace on the end of scramble just inside the 6 yard box, the ball cleared off the line but falls kindly to Clint Hodge from 15 yards out ‘but blasts the ball over the bar.

The hard working Lee Smith setting up Clint Hodge who tries his luck from 25 yards ‘but well handled by the Hullbridge Keeper.

Jordan Childs using his pace to out run the Hullbrige defence down the left, gets to the by-line and swings the ball high towards the back post, Hullbridge Keeper looks to collect however, Jamie Wallace gets there first and nods the ball over the head of the now stranded keeper and heading goal bound, Paul Lander clearing the ball off the line with what could only be centre-meters to spare!

Another Manor corner, Lee Smith leaps highest to nod the ball goal bound, however, the ball goes straight into the goal-keepers hands. Click Here to View Video.

65th minute of the game and its all Manor now, Danny Dobson and Jamie Wallace linking well down the right, Wallace into the box and shoots, but cleared by Peddle for another Manor Corner.

70th minute and Dobson again down the right hand-side creates a few yards and swings in a delightful ball to the hedge of the box and onto the chest of Bradley Nelson, who controls the ball brilliantly and in one smooth movement lashes the ball into the net, 1-0 to the Manor.

84th minute and the Manor strike again, the supplier this time was Jordan Childs once more showing his electric pace ‘as he heads off towards goal, Childs to the hedge of the area sends in a accurate pass across goal into the path of Bradley Nelson ‘who needed to re-position himself to angle the ball into the net from close range, 2-0 to the Manor.

The clock ticks down and with very little injury time recorded sees the Manor take all 3 points and another Clean-sheet for the Manor’s Keeper, Andy Hall.

A good result for the Manor today ‘as they chase for 4th spot in the league, with a game in hand and only 1 point behind Romford the run-in towards the end of the season will be a tight affair.

The Manor's next game is at home on Tuesday evening 15th April against Bowers & Pitsea in the League.
