The Manor welcomes
Barking to Chad’s Road today. The Braves on the
back of their midweek disappointment against Redbridge
in the Quarter Finals of the FansFocus.Com Essex Senior
Cup ‘will be looking to strengthen their position
in the League today.

The Manor making a few changes to the line up that faced
Redbridge mid week. In comes Danny Dobson, Chris Barratt
and making his debut for the Manor the recently acquired
midfielder from Sawbridgeworth "Jordan Childs"
Barking come close in the opening 10 minutes when Courtney
Mclean slips on the muddy surface whichthen allows a
Barking attack through the last line of defence, Chris
Barratt chases back to make a superb challenge from
behind to clear the danger.

The Manor having much possession ‘but not probing
the Barking defence enough. Adeoye and Stephenson linking
up well only for the attack to fizzle out.

Barking gaining some mileage down the Manor left. The
Manor losing possession in their own half, the ball
swung across goal, into the path of Steve Slade ‘who
finds himself in a one on one situation with Andy Hall,
Slade slides the ball passed the outstretched hands
of the Manor keeper.
Barking's confidence
now starting to grow as they attack the Manor goal down
the left, the ball driven to the byline and whipped
into the Manor area, Andy Hall quick to spot the danger
dashers out to clear the ball only to concede a free
kick on the edge of the box.

The Manor awarded
a free kick on the edge of the Barking penalty area,
the ball powered in and deflects off the Barking wall,
Barking the quicker to react send the ball down the
left, Barking now on the edge of the Manor box unleash
a blistering effort which smashes the underside of the
Manor bar and eventually cleared by a panic stricken
Manor defence.

Barking once more finding room down the Manor left,
the ball whipped into the edge of the Manor area, Steve
Slade once again making his presence felt by scoring
his and Barking’s second of the game, 2-0 to the
visitors.

Manor Corner,
lashed in by Liam Mulcare to the near post, Kunle Adeoye
users his knee to slice the ball goal bound, deflected
onto a barking leg and into the net, 2-1.

Last remaining minutes of the first period, Steve Willis
in the Barking box, smashes the ball towards goal, the
Barking keeper somehow managing to scoop the ball away,
great chance for the Manor to draw level just before
the break.

The second period and the Manor responding to Graham
Chester and his coaching staff words of encouragement!!
The Manor now taking the game to Barking and come close
to scoring when Danny Dobson goes route one, into the
Barking box and slides the ball into the path of Liam
Mulcare ‘whose shot just sneaks wide of the post.

Dobson once more opening up Barking down the right,
gets almost to the byline before sending a superb pass
across goal, Anton Stephenson looking certain to head
the ball home, however, a Barking defender just beating
Stephenson to the ball accidentally smashes the ball
into the top corner of his own net, making it 2-2.

Anton Stephenson in determined mood as he goes solo
towards the Barking goal, Stephenson now 25 yards from
goal 'fires in a powerful right footed effort which
looks to be dipping into the goal, ‘but instead
falls centimetres over the Barking crossbar.

The Manor bench making some tactical changes, Bradley
Brotherton on for the hard working Neil Barratt &
Loren Dallo on for Jordan Childs.
Danny Dobson again down the right, links well with Stephenson
‘who shouts to send him long to the byline, Stephenson
whips in a pinpoint pass to the feet of Brotherton,
who needed to reposition himself before launching the
ball low and hard into the bottom right hand-side of
the goal, 3-2 to the Manor, a real gutsy comeback.
Another Substitute, the
creative mystro "Danny Dobson off for the industrious
Marq Odojunken.

As the clock ticks down it’s the Manor who look
more likely to score, the ball collected by Steve Willis
in the Manor half, Willis bringing the ball to the half
way line spots Liam Mulcare down the left, Mulcare slides
the ball to Loren Dallo, who threads his way into the
box and slices the ball home making the final score
4-2 to the Manor.

The Manor once again showing that they have real grit
and character to come back from a two goal deficit to
win comfortably by a two goal margin.
Some notable performances today, especially in the second
half. Courtney Mclean looks to have finally shaken off
his injury problems that has plagued him for so long
'with a solid performance, good also to see Lee Smith
back to his battling best and Bradley Brotherton ‘orchestrating
the midfield with such effectiveness, however, Man of
the Match goes to "Danny Dobson" who created
so much for the Manor today, involved in most of the
build up play, showed wiliness to work for the team
and demonstrated an unselfish attitude.
