The Manor faces
Burnham in the second Leg of the League Cup today at
Leslie Field’s. The Manor losing the first Leg
by 2-1, need a win in order to secure their Semi Final
Spot.

The Manor without
Kunle Adeoye out due to flu, in comes Manley Brown playing
his first game for the Manor. Other changes since the
6-1 mauling of Sawbridgeworth Town last week, in comes
Skipper Steve Willis and Courtney Mclean ‘both
recovered from muscle injuries. On the Subs bench a
recall for Lee Smith and Ray Coker.

The Manor come
close in the opening few minutes, Liam Mulcare with
the ball at his feet, slightly off centre fires in a
blistering 30 yard shot, just wide of the post.
Burnham's Nick
Muir sets Manor nerves on edge 'as he races onto the
ball down the right, square into Danny Jones who smashes
the ball inches past the post.

Burnham utilising
the 1 goal advantage gained in the first Leg by slowing
the game down, leaving the Manor players feeling frustrated.

Midway through
the first half and Burnham's Jack Callow sets off down
the Manor right, squares the ball across goal to Chris
Day who fires his shot over the bar. Lucky escape for
the Manor.

The Manor not
penetrating Burnham deep enough, some flashes of good
football but the wave of attacks competently broken
up by Burnham's defence.

Burnham attack
down the left, Danny Jones breaks free from 30 yards
out, with Manor's Courtney Mclean in toe, the Manor
defender managing to scoop the ball away from towering
No 9 and come away with the ball at his feet to great
applause and delight of the Manor bench.

The Clock ticking
down in the first period, neither side taking the initiative
as the match official calls time after adding 3 minutes
injury time.
The second period
and the Manor reacting the more positive. Bradley Brotherton
taking up is creative roll as he releases Liam Allen
down the left, Allen to the edge of Burnham's Penalty
area chips the ball to the feet of Manley Brown playing
his debut for the Braves, Brown with his back towards
goal turns and smashes the ball inches over the bar.

The Manor continue
to put pressure on the home side, Allen again the provider
as he whips the ball into the box and into the path
of Chris Barratt 'whose mistimed effort sneaks just
past the post.

53rd minute,
Brotherton sends the ball long down the left, the ball
chipped on by Neil Barratt into the path of Anton Stephenson,
Stephenson skips past two defenders as reaches the by-Line
and from an acute angle Stephenson Manages to curve
the ball into the net, making it 1-0 to the Manor, 2-2
on aggregate.

Stephenson and
Brown creating a nice one two, leaving Stephenson running
towards goal, the inform striker drops his shoulder
‘as he smashes the ball from just inside the box,
the ball slicing the post after taking a minor deflection
and out for a corner. From the corner Skipper Steve
Willis heads inches over the bar. The Manor now terrorising
the Burnham defence.

70th Minute
and Liam Mulcare takes a corner, which is perfectly
met by the well timed jump of Manley Brown 'who heads
home to put the Manor in front by 2-0 and 3-2 on aggregate.

5 minutes later,
Burnham clearly refusing to lay back and surrender,
score from some good build up play down the Manor right,
Burnham’s substitute Lloyd Wilson scores to bring
the game back to 3-3 on aggregate and pushes the game
into Injury time.

The Manor once
again come close, this time Manor Substitute Lee Smith
combining well with Manley Brown who set Stephenson
up only to see his shot once again smash off the woodwork
and out for a goal kick.

Burnham showing great character hit the Manor on the
counter, the ball driven in from wide and to the joy
of the home side score to make it 2-2 and 4-3 on aggregate.

Into the second
period of Extra time and the Manor continue to put pressure
on the Burnham goal, Burnham’s keeper ‘Dave
McCartney pleased to see Manley Browns effort from close
range go out for a goal kick.
Final few minutes
remaining and the Manor celebrate Steve Willis’s
goal from 6 yards out, Willis swivels on the spot to
line up his shot and finds the net to make the score
3-2 to the Manor on the day but 4-4 on aggregate and
into a penalty shoot-out.

The Manor needing
to take 11 penalties all cumulating into a final nail
biting last penalty by Manor's goalkeeping hero “Any
Hall” Hall just needing to convert his spot kick
to put his team mates into the Semi Finals. Hall steps
up as McCartney Burnham’s keeper spreads himself
wide to narrow the angle, the experienced Manor keeper
placing the ball into the top left hand corner of the
net to start the Manor celebrating a fabulous win against
a hard working and spirited Burnham team.

This tie could
have gone either way ‘Burnham defended extremely
well and the Manor was unlucky not to have killed the
game off in the second period of normal time.
Those that witnessed
this thriller were privileged to see two committed sides
‘both desperate to win, full credit to both sets
of players and Management for an entertaining game.
The Manor now
faces either, Enfield 1893, Concord Rangers or Barking
in the Semi Finals of the League Cup.
