The Manor Open
their Pres-season with a 22 man squad against newly
promoted Tilbury FC. With record temperatures recorded
today the game kicked off at a fearsome pace. The Manor
having the better of the early exchanges, and got their
rewards in the 12 minute when Manor veteran Johnny Quinn
slotted home from 18 yards after a great Ricky Defreitas
through ball.

The Manor looking
tight at the back with new boy Carl Bailey fitting in
well alongside Ray Coker, C.Barrett and young talent
Mark Clarey.

The Manor continue
to look menacing, as another debutant, Tazewell Thompson,
baffled and confused the Tilbury defence, sadly, Thompson,
feeling a slight twinge on his hamstring took precautions
and came off to be replaced by Ex West Ham youth player
"Aaron Gayle".

This new look
Manor team comprising of both youth and senior players
took full control of the first period, leaving Manor
keeper Darren Smyth with very little to do.

Some flashes
of brilliance from Jamie Wallace and Ricky Defreitas,
sharing some neat one, two's, only to result in Wallace
sending the ball over the bar.

Tilbury looked
for an opportunity in the dieing minutes of the first
half, only to thwarted by another new Manor signing
Neil Barratt.

The second half
saw Tilbury change into their Red Away shirts. Whitelock
also deciding for a change, in an effort to give his
large squad a good run out replaced, Wallace, C.Barratt,
D.Smyth, Coker and Charlie Tarten with Marsh, McCarthy,
Whyche, Holland & Tony Leary.
Tilbury pulled
the score level with a well worked Goal that saw the
ball spin into the net past the outstretched hands of
Paul Holland.

Further subs
used, Hammond, Chester, Ekebcha, Ukaigwa meant that
all the Manor men getting an opportunity to fight for
their place.
Tilbury scoring
their second a few minutes from time and subsequently
winning the game 2-1.

It was obvious
to see that the Manor men have been working hard on
the training ground, Johnny Quinn looking ever impressive
with a dynamo like display in the scorching heat. All
the new signings giving a good account of themselves,
in particular, Tony Leary looked solid in the middle,
along with Neil Barratt and Carl Bailey, other impressive
displays from front men Ricky Defreitas and new signing
Tazewell Thompson who looked full of running before
being injured and had to leave the field.

No surprise however,
that Manor youngster "Mark Cleary" looked
solid in defence, Clarey, proving to be a quality signing
for the Manor and takes "Man of the Match award"

Next Game see's
the Braves in a double header at Thamesmead Town on
Saturday 22nd July. The first game kicking off at 12
noon and the second at 3pm. All Squad members will be
