Essex Senior League

Saturday 11th November 2006 - Kick Off 3pm

The Manor welcome Essex Senior New boys Beaumont Athletic who make the transition to Senior League for the first time in the 2006/2007 League season. Beaumont not having the best of starts, conceded 64 goals from 11 League games already this season.

Both Teams impeccably observing a minutes Silence before the game for Armistice, in rememberence & to commemorate these that have fallen victim to War.

The Manor kick off and straight away gave a warning shot to Beaumont as Jamie Wallace chases a long ball down, the Beaumont Keeper came out and tried to clear his line, the ball cannoned off the back of Wallace who turned last minute to prevent getting the ball fall on in his face, the ball then falls kindly for Wallace at the foot of the goal, leaving him the simple job to stroke the ball into the net, however, the Referee who was off the pace of play at the time, decided to disallow the goal, as he believed that Wallace had used his hand to knock the ball on?

Beaumont come close, some good work down the Manor left, caught the Manor defence square footed, as they powered a low drive just past the post, close shave for the Manor.

4 minutes later, Manor front men Sam Cashman and Danny Sabaroche causing Beaumont all sorts of problems, Cashmen collecting the ball down the left from a sublime pass from Wallace, Cashmen cruises into the box and turns two defenders, lays the ball low & with pace across goal to Sabaroche who finds a few seconds to line up his shot past the outreached hands of the Beaumont keeper to make the score 1-0 to the home side.

Danny Sabaroche again on to a fabulous ball over the top of the retreating defence by Chris Barratt, Sabaroche bullies his way past a chasing defender and shoots just over the bar. Its all Manor and Beaumont looking shell shocked at this stage of the game.

Carl Bailey battling for everything, gets just past the half way line, wins possession of the ball and sends a 35 yard pass into the danger area, which rebounds off a defender and into the path of Neil Barratt who smashes the ball into the net 2-0 to the Manor.

Sabaroche playing a nice one two with Wallace and heads off towards goal, slices the ball inches past the post.

The Manor's third goal was a great build up from their own area, Ray Coker collecting the ball from Manor Keeper Nicky Mitchell, Coker with the ball at his feet charges down the left, lays the ball nicely to Tony Marsh as he steams off into the Beaumont half, down the left hand side, sends a great ball into the box to Sam Cashmen, who cooly brings the ball under control and curves the ball around the keeper on to the post and into the net, 3-0 to the Manor.

A another close shave as the Manor again attack down the left hand side, Cashmen this time the provider swings a great cross into the box, Mark Clarey takes an instant stab at it on the volley, the ball then blasts centimeters just over the bar, and had it gone in, would have been contender for goal of the season!

Beaumont seizing an opportunity to get back in to the game, sending the ball in to the danger area, Mitchell goes to ground the ball then bounces high enough to nod into the net 3-1.

Beaumont now picking up the pace and create some chances to get back into the game. The Manor defence however, doing well to contain Beaumont and look well organised, Coker, Mash combining well on the left to deal with any danger, this balanced with Carl Bailey working really hard on the right to keep the front pack adequately supplied.

The Manor attack once more this time the hard working Tasewell Thompson chasing the ball down, rounds a defender and lays the ball to the feet of Cashmen who fires his shot just wide of the post.

The second period and desperation time for Beaumont as the Manor pin them back in the opening minutes, a quick corner taken and the ball is drilled into the box, it seems like an age as the ball is pin balled from one side to another and eventually cleared for a throw!

Nicky Mitchell called back into action as he needed to go low to prevent Beaumont from further capitalising, does well to scoop the ball up.

Manor Corner, the ball drilled in low, Skipper Jamie Wallace pounces on the ball to make the score 4-1.

Manor make their first substitute Mark Clarey off for Justin Gardener. Followed by a few minutes later, Neil Barratt off for New Signing David Annobil.

Another scramble in the Beaumont area, Wallace then Cashmen having a stab, before Sabaroche sends the ball just wide of the post.

Beaumont continue to search out opportunities and the Manor needing to stay alert, as they crush a long range low effort that screams just past the post.

Manor defence getting caught in possession as Beaumont head off towards the Manor goal in packs, the ball swept low into the corner of the net leaving Nicky Mitchell no chance. 4-2.

The Manor now starring to look uneasy as Beaumont pick up the pace, another goal conceded now would put enormous pressure on the home side! Another Beaumont strike, looks to be going in, but thankfully Nicky Mitchell wide awake as he gets the ball under control.

Cashmen still trying to sniff out an opportunity breaks on the ball, cuts into the penalty area and slots the ball just over the bar.

Another Manor Substitute as Tashwell Thompson is replaced by Stephen Parker.

Parker down the right, squares to Sabaroche, who pushes his way into the box, noticing Cashmen unmarked at the back post slides the ball across giving Cashmen the easy task of just slotting the ball in to the net making the score 5-2.

The Manor now pouring on the style as they attack from everywhere on the park, Cashmen and Sabaroche working really well together and appear to be forming a real understanding of each others play.

Stephen Parker again doing a great job down the right, opening up some space and laying a great ball to Danny Sabaroche in the box, Sabaroche turns at least two defenders before finding an angle and slots the ball home to make the final score 6-2 to the Manor.
