The Manor without
their inspirational skipper Steve Reading wasted no
time taking the lead in this mid table clash. The Manor
opened the scoring in the 4th minute when Jamie Wallace
sent a divine curling ball into the path of Glenn Connolly,
20 yards out, connolly hitting the ball on the volley
past the outstretched hands of the Basildon keeper,
1-0 up to the Manor.

Basildon nearly
equalised, a low driven ball saw Carl Prince quickly
down to his right to palm it away for a corner.
Jamie Wallace
using his pace to try and open up the Bee's defence,
down the right sending the ball just over the bar.
Glenn Connolly
shows tremendous pace down the Basildon left hand side,
cutting in from the by-line and shooting from a tight
angle, the ball landing just past the post.
With the light
fading fast, some wayward passing from both sides due
to choice of club colours starting to clash.

The Manor continue
to chase the ball down, this time Terry Hunt down the
left from a perfect pass from the Manor's Lee smith,
Hunt breaks into the Bee's area shoots, keeper finger
tips the ball over the bar.

The second half
again sees the Manor take the initiative and crowd the
midfield, Wallace looking dangerous with the ball at
his feet running towards goal, creating so many chances
but unable to hit the ball on target.
Basildon's turn
to attack, but find it hard to gain ground as The Manor's
Ray Coker covering every blade of grass in the Manor
area.

The Bee's turn
on the heat and look dangerous when they attack, Ray
Coker and Chris Barratt holding their defence together
and looked to absorb the pressure until the 60th minute
when the Bee's push the ball down the Manor left, the
ball sent in to the area and from Close range fire the
ball past Prince to make it 1-1.
The Bee's continue
to battle, luckily for the Manor Mr 100% Tony Marsh
holding his line and preventing further damage.

Jamie Wallace
onto a great ball over the top by Charlie Tarten, Wallace
with only the keeper to beat blasts the ball just wide
of the post.
First substitute
for the Manor, in form striker Chris Hammond on for
the Manor's workhorse Lenny Nicholls.

The Bee's down
the left, swiftly cut off by Manors new boy Mark Carey
who sends the ball down the right, Wallace collects
and neatly back heels to Lee Smith, Smith strokes the
ball into the path of Connolly who sends a great ball
across goal on the head of Hunt just wide of the post.
The Manor penalised
30 yards out and awarded a free kick, Hammond steps
up and blasts the ball towards the wall of players,
taking a deflection the ball rounds the keeper and into
the net making it 2-1 to the Braves.

A flurry of chances
for the Manor, Wallace punching the ground in frustration
as he bursts into the Bee's area just the slightest
of touches needed but blasts the ball off target and
out of play.
Now in the dying
minutes of the game and the Manor looking good for all
3 points. Basildon attack down the right but Chris Barratt
who looked solid all game sweeps the ball off the feet
of the Bee's striker.

Two minutes of
normal time left and Basildon level the score after
a poor Manor back pass, the ball falling into the path
of a Basildon striker who did not need asking twice
as he blasts the ball past Prince making it 2-2.
From the restart
an outrageous effort from Chris Hammons noticing the
Basildon keeper was off his line blasted a high ball
over the keepers head, taking one bound to many just
crept over the bar!

The game finishing
2-2. The Manor know they should of wrapped this game
up in the second half. full credit to Basildon who are
having more then their fair share of problems this year
stuck to their task and got a well earned point.
