Saturday 11th March 2006

The Manor struggling to recapture the form that saw them beat Burnham Ramblers a few weeks ago, instead a bland Brentwood Town performance smothered the Manor to take all 3 points.

In the 7th minute and against the run of play Carl Prince clears his line, the ball quickly worked back into the Manor area to the feet of Brentwood Striker Paul Carr, who sent a looping shot into the net making it 1-0 to the home side.

14 minutes on the Clock and Manor struggling to keep possession, lose the ball inside the 18 yard line to Quince, who places the ball into the bottom right hand corner of the net making it 2-0 to the sky blues.

Some flashes of brilliance from Ricky Defretitas who sets up Graham Chester towards goal, but powers his shot over the bar.

Manor continue with the wayward passing that is gratefully accepted by Brentwood as they pile more pressure on the Manor goal.

Manor's Ray Coker still battling against injury was made to work hard against a determined Brentwood front pack.

Skipper Steve Reading makes a strong but fair tackle to clear the danger down the right, the Referee shows the yellow card.

The game goes into slow motion, when the Referee Mr Bradshaw recklessly gives 4 yellow cards in the space of 5 minutes!

The Manor's feeling of persecution is apparent and Player/Assistance Manager "Graham Chester" tries to calm his side to keep their cool.

Brentwood however, keep their concentration and rain down once again on the Manor goal, this time Carl Prince pulls off a fabulous double save that keeps the score 2-0 at the break.

Second half sees the introduction of Darren Adams, back from injuring his shoulder against Waltham Abbey last month. Adams, replacing the hard working Matty Spicer.

Adams having an immediate impact, using his strong frame to pull the Brentwood defence out of shape.

51 minutes gone and Brentwood attack again, this time across goal, Prince hesitates to come out, which buys Mark Doyle enough time to pick his spot over the head of the stranded Manor Keeper, making the score 3-0 to Brentwood.

The combination & presence of Darren Adams and Ryan Whyche looks impressive as the Manor go forward. The Brentwood defence having to work harder in the second half to contain the Manor front man.

Defreitas goes down the Brentwood left and is cynically challenged from behind, Defreitas reacts by grabbing the shirt of the defender, Mr Bradshaw without hesitation shows Defreitas the Red card!

Double substitution for the Manor, sees Chester off for Dean Pearson and Tarten off for Stephen Parker.

Another yellow card this time Ryan Whyche, who's strong presence on a light weight defender looked worse then it was, Whyche accepting the Refs error without complaint.

Another off the ball incident, sees Skipper Steve Reading get his second yellow of the game as he is given his matching orders by Mr Bradshaw.

The Manor now down to 9 men and 3-0 behind have their work cut out for the remainder of the game.

The 9 Manor men keep their composer until the end and defend well to keep the scoreline sensible, another great save by Prince 2 minutes from time, allowed the Manor to take some pride from the game.

Some positives taken from the game by the Manor Management, Adams & Whyche looked a good combination going forward, properly developed would give teams in the ESL a few headaches.

Young Dean Pearson looked extremely lively and gave the Manor pace down the left.

Manor Team:

Prince, Coker, Reading, Quinn, Wallace,Connely, Spicer, Tarten, Whyche, Defreitas, Chester. Sub, Bastin, Dixon, Pearson, Clarey, Parker, Adams.
