The Manor looking the brighter
in the first 15 minutes however, the first chance falling
to Abbey when a well timed run into the Manor area looked
a certain goal, until The Manor's Steve Reading sliced
the ball from under the feet of the attacking player.

The next chance fell to Chris Hammond who drove his
shot just wide of the post, Billy Powell suffering from
a dead leg continued to look sharp as he controlled
a high ball down on his chest sending the ball wide
to his left on to the foot of Chris Hammond who hit
the ball just over the bar.
The Manor appear to be playing a dangerous offside
game and the officials struggling to keep up with the
game seem to be missing clear offside decisions and
the feeling is that this is where The Abbott's will
have much of their success tonight.

The Manor step it up a gear, ball played into Powell
just inside the Abbott's half, Powell taking the ball
down the right, looked up and crossed a delightful pass
into the area, Hammond first to the ball and sending
it just wide of the post.
The Manor's best opportunity so far, Paul Docherty
finds himself in front to goal and at his mercy, appears
to trip over the ball before being swamped with Abbey
players to clear the danger.

The Abbott's attack down the left hand-side, Abbey
player clearly 5 yards offside, Officials not up with
play allowed play to go on! for Abbey to score making
it 1-0.
Manor continue to soak up the pressure, Abbey missing
a great opportunity to go 2-0 up when a one on one with
Carl Prince the Abbey player unselfishly knocking the
ball right of the goal to an unmarked Abbey player who
shoots wide!
The Abbott's looking really smooth now with the ball
being passed around the pitch almost at will, the whole
team working as a unit and showing why they have had
a great season this year.

Abbey find their second tonight with some brilliant
fluent football, opening up the Manor defence allowing
himself room to drive his shot from 20 yards passed
Prince 2-0 To the Abbott's at the break.
Second half kicks off as did the first, with the Manor
not taking their chances, Lee Smith on for the injured
Chris Hammond sending a great ball into the Abbey penalty
area from the left, straight onto the foot of Bill Powell
who sends his shot wide.

Waltham Abbey attack down the Manor right, cutting
in to the middle and shooting from 30 yards low and
hard, Prince gathers safely.
A long ball played up into the Manor area, into the
path of a Abbey striker, with the slightest of touches
sends the ball over the head of Prince making it 3-0.

Glenn Connolly's turn to try and switch on a Manor
revival, with the ball at his feet now in the Abbey
half steams down the right, cutting into the penalty
area looks to find a yard and sends his shot wide.

The Manor had their chances tonight, but as in previous
games failed to take them. Waltham Abbey looked a very
good side, credit to the boys in green they stuck to
their task and played decent football to win with a
comfortable score-line.
