The Manor start the more lively
of the two sides, after 5 minutes both teams have chances.
7 minutes into the game Manor over the top of the Enfield
Town defence into the path of Forde running towards
goal with only the keeper to beat, referee blows for
an infringement? Early signs that the Manor mean business.
12 minutes again the Manor charge on the Towner's goal,
Connolly to Forde one on one with the keeper brilliantly
saved by Hall, the ball rebounds back out to Jay Felice
again parried away straight into the Path of Davy Armstrong
who stuck the ball low into the right hand corner only
to again be brilliantly saved by the Towner's keeper
for a corner. Outstanding goalkeeping display by Andy
Hall. In the 17th minute the Town take a Free Kick taken
well by Mathew Negus saved by the Manor Keeper Steve
Richards. The Enfield Town Keeper once more called into
action in the 20th minute when Armstrong struck the
ball from 15 yards and Hall pushed the ball out of play.
Enfield Towns turn to attack down the right, Rideout
taking on the defence and heading towards goal, Chris
Barret Manor defender just getting a toe on the ball
to stop the attack. 25 minutes into play and this lively
Manor team looking certain to brake the deadlock kept
the pressure on the Towns defence. Armstrong playing
some great football using his talent to spread the ball
to the flanks allowing the Manor to attack down both
wings. 31 minutes and the first yellow Card of the game
to Barrett for an infringement on Negus. 32 minutes
Town take a free kick just outside the Manor area, Rudi
Hall steps up and shoots and hits Connolly! Referee
gives a yellow card to Connolly for not being 10 yards?

Manor back on the pace, Armstrong sending a great ball
down the left to Connolly who hits the ball well just
crept over the bar. 41 minutes gone The Town keeping
possession look to beat the offside trap send a ball
over the top and into the path of Rudi Hall who collects
the ball just inside the Manor half, seeing a gap in
the Manor defence goes for goal twisting and turning
two Manor defenders, let rip a fabulous shot just out
of reach of Richards 0-1 to Enfield Town. Jay Felice
who's work rate was fabulous the whole of the first
half had a chance when in the 44th minute attacked down

area only to be intercepted by Andy Hall. Forde getting
a yellow for disagreeing with the referee.
45 minutes and Town attack the Manor defence again beating
the offside trap and Negus running towards goal Richards
anticipating the danger pawed the ball away great save
by the Manor keeper. An extremely lively first half
as the teams go in at the break.
The second half saw 3 subs come on for Enfield Town,
Asa Pamplin, Francis and Massala. The Manor first to
attack with Forde just heading wide of the post. 51
minutes free kick to The Manor, Armstrong takes to Forde

who heads it just over the bar. Paul Docherty's turn
to test the Towns defence when he hit a shot on the
half volley Hall again on hand to stop any danger. 55
minutes into the half Forde attacking down the centre
pushed off the ball by a town defender, Forde disputes
the refs decision to play on and gets his second yellow
of the game to take an early shower! The Manor now down
to 10 men so early into the second half changed the
Manors strategy! Jay Felice now the lone striker had
to work twice as hard and chased for every ball, nearly
getting his reward when in the 61st minute broke free
and whilst being chased by two Town defenders hit his
shot just wide of the post. 63 minutes and The Town
attack getting to the edge of the Manor's area and Richards
anticipating play kicks the ball out of bounds. 64 minutes
and the Braves living upto their nickname put more pressure
on to the Towns defence, Felice working hard in the
build up laying a ball into the path of Connolly who
hits the ball on the volley again just wide of the post.
The Manor rueing so many chances could have easily have
been in the lead by this time did not give up heart
and continued to push the Town. The Manor Captain Johnny
Quinn doing his normal encouraging role, kept the Manors
spirits up as they kept the pressure on the Towner's
defence. 68 minutes and Enfield Town seemed to pickup
their game firing a fierce shot just over the Manor
bar. 69 minutes and Docherty off for Debutant Curle
and in the 71st minute Connolly off for Mills. 83 minutes
gone and the Towner's now taking the game to the Manor
Pamplin holding up the ball to allow the Town to attack
and the Town No 9 just hitting it over the bar. 84 minutes
Fullbrook on for Armstrong. The Town finishing the game
the stronger team meant that the Manor's back four were
put under pressure, Marsh, Barrett, Mitchell and Smith
doing a Stirling job keeping the score down to just
one goal. 88 minutes and a close call when Quinn sent
a ball over the top of the Town defence into the path
of Mills, Andy Hall came to collect just outside his
area and tried to dribble out of trouble, luckily enough
for the Town keeper he caught the ball well out of arms
way.
All in all a great Football Match, played in the right
